Trailwalker 2011

Oxfam Novib Trailwalker 2011: we made it!

In June 2011 SKIM participated in the Dutch Oxfam Trailwalker: a fund raising walk on the Veluwe of no less than one hundred kilometres in teams of four people. Our champions finished after 25 hours and 17 minutes of walking and supporting! We collected 3,735 euros for the educational projects in Birma / Myanmar, contributing to the total Dutch Trailwalker proceeds of 422,116 euros.

The Oxfam Novib Trailwalker is a classic. A walk of one hundred kilometres right through the resplendent nature of De Veluwe, much of it across country lanes, in teams of four people. Mind: it is not a relay, all team members walk the 100km together - and all inside 30 hours! Every team is supported intensively and has the care of a two-person support team. In the run-up months each teams raises a minimum of € 3,000 for educational projects of Oxfam Novib.

Thanks for all donations, sympathy and support!
