SSI Web - CiW, ACA/Web, CBC/Web, CVA/Web, MaxDiff/Web,

To install the latest version of SSI Web (including CiW, ACA/Web, CBC/Web, and MaxDiff/Web), please follow these directions.

Important Installation Instructions

1. Please wait until you are finished fielding and exporting data from a previous SSI Web project before updating the software. SSI Web v6 cannot be installed on the same system as v5 and earlier.

2. If you are a CBC/Web or ACA/Web user, you should update your SMRT system to v4.12 or later, otherwise, SMRT will not recognize your valid ACA/Web and CBC/Web licenses. Download SMRT

3. SSI Web v6 will not function with SSI Web v5 or prior UserIDs. If you would like to upgrade please contact SKIM Software by email.

1. Download Program
If you previously had verion 5.0 or later of SSI Web installed on your computer, it is not necessary to uninstall your old version before installing this update.

Your browser should ask whether you want to run the program from its current location or download the file to your hard drive. We suggest that you run the program from its current location. However, if you have a slow internet connection, need to distribute the new version to other licensed users, or if you may need to install again at a later time, you may want to save the installation program to your hard drive.

2. Launch Installation Program
If you have chosen to run the installation program from its current location, the installation process will start automatically. Otherwise, you will need to manually launch the SSIWeb_6_4_2_Setup.exe installation program.

For new installations: While we recommend using the default installation location, you may install the new version of SSI Web in any directory you choose.

For updates to older versions: If you had an older version of SSI Web on your computer, you should install the new version of SSI Web in the same directory as the old version. SSI Web will install itself over the old version, updating just the program files. Your previous study and data files will remain intact.

3. Enter User ID Information
If this is a new installation, you will need to import that file by launching SSI Web and going to <Help - About SSI Web/User ID...>. It is easiest just to import the file, but if you choose to retype the information in the About SSI Web/User ID area, it must be entered exactly as it appears on the license information that accompanied your software.

4. Install SMRT (ACA/Web and CBC/Web only)
ACA/Web and CBC/Web users will also need to install the SMRT program for the market simulator and utility summaries.

SMRT will automatically detect the UserIDs installed with SSI Web so no separate UserIds are required.
